I was invited to a Virgin Vie (cosmetics, skin care etc) party at a friends last night and I didn't try a single product or purchase anything!

I did ask to see the ingredients for the skin care products that were being passed around, and they were very ordinary (I'm talking an "anti-aging" moisturiser who's claim to fame was not much more than vitamin E !). I know you can pick up much better from the local drugstore for a fraction of the price! Every single product, including those supposedly for sensitive skin, was so laden with fragrance it made me feel quite ill.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but it was staggering the number of ladies who believed the outrageous claims made by the company (and the party hostess) and they were throwing money at them like they were the next big thing.

There was a time where I would have had to try at least one product, but thankfully those days of experimentation are behind me
