I ran out of hair gel the other day and in a frantic hunt around my house for something that I could use ended up finding a tube of aloe gel (99.9% pure) and figured I'd give it a go.

It has turned out to be the best hair styling product I have ever used (and cheapest too!). It gives just enough hold and doesn't go flakey if you brush your hair etc..,. I also figure it's not going to do my hair any harm, it doesn't leave any residue and there's no chance of it causing me breakouts!

So, this find got me to thinking if there are any other products that could have alternative uses?

Have any of you got any tips you'd like to share?
