I was at my doctors a short while ago and flipping through an 18 month old or so women's magazine and came across an article about women's attitudes to aging.

I was rather shocked by the survey results they were publishing, which showed that 68% of the women surveyed between the ages of 18 and 25 were more afraid of developing wrinkles than dying. The 25 to 50 age bracket didn't fair much better either, with some 45% and the over 50's came in at 22%.

What kind of society are we breeding when women's fear of developing wrinkles outweighs their fear of dying?

I don't think anyone should spend their time being afraid of death, but to be more afraid of developing wrinkles than death both disturbs and saddens me.

I think it's time we got our priorities right.
