Why oh why do they have to make the assembly of children's toys so darned difficult?

I'm trying to assemble a tricycle for my youngest niece's birthday (she's 4 this Saturday) and the diagrams don't match up completely to what's in the box. 4 hours later and no closer.

GRRRRRRR!!!!!
Josh / 41 / male / DSPW-OSPW / Acne and clog prone / sensitive. Switching up my routine as I'm living in a new country (Malta) and the change in climate, water and diet is causing my skin to play up.

Using: La Roche-Posay Lipikar Syndet (AM/PM), distilled witch hazel (AM/PM), Clarins UV Plus HP SPF 40 (AM), Retin-A Gel 0.01% (PM).
