TOPIC: Pet Owners - Auto Feeders

Pet Owners - Auto Feeders 4 years, 3 months ago #2811

For all of you pet owners, do any of you use an automatic pet feeder?

We have two cats in our house that are on a diet. They get fed a 1/4 cup 2 twice a day. When we go away on the weekend we have to dish out their entire weekend's worth of food at once. Needless to say when we return on Sunday night they are starvin'. I'd love to put a camera with timestamp up and find out exactly what time they empty their bowls. My guess is 3 hours after we leave Friday night. In addition, we have one cat who likes to remind us it's time to get fed in the mornings. Instead of her crying outside our bedroom door, I want her to stare at her feeder (quietly hopefully) waiting to be fed.

I've looked at a few automatic pet feeders, but there doesn't seem to be many choices. There is a disc one (www.petronic.com/eightday.htm), which I'm not crazy about. And then there is a bottle type one - see link (www.petronic.com/autopetfeeder.htm).

Neither of these products have stellar reviews, they are all OK.

If you use a pet feeder, what do you use and are you happy with it? Or what suggestions would you give me to look for in an auto feeder?

Thanks!
Jen

PS - These are my girls, Hunter and Midnight ;D
