Dear Dr Baumann, I am happy there are people like you, and I am glad I discovered your book.

However, it took the quiz couple times, and had some questions where my answers are a and b and I try to combine the score, or add the scores with the first answer then with the second. The Bottom line is I need help to find out what my skin type is ;(

The results showed that I am ORNW, however, when I read the chapter about ORNW I don’t think that’s me. My skin is nowhere easy to care for like it’s says on the first page 225. Then a close look of my skin (p229) I tan so easily, I never burn, it’s says I have difficult tanning, and I don’t. I never had problems on the beach. I never turn red, or if I do is for couple hours then I turn dark very very dark with time. Perfect tan.

The only certain category that I fit into for sure is the N, I am not pigmented at all, not even my family. The only pigmentation I seen in my parents and grandparents is on their hands but that is from aging.

The first category O/D I scored 24,5 - 27,5 . So that classify me as Oily, but at times I feel dry and I think the dryness comes from different products I use for my acne and large pores. I am currently using Paula Choice the 1% beta hydroxyl acid gel, (its good but I might try the 2% for better results with my large pores). If my skin gets dry, I put natural oils (I use natural plain rose hip oil) and that’s enough for all day moisturizer. But I don’t classify my skin as dry; I have had oily skin my whole life. I am 21 now. And I had acne since I can remember. I am not a severe kind, I will have 2 3 at a time, sometimes none but not for long.

Second Category S/R I scored 28 and the reason for this is because I had to add 5 points for my acne. I had 23 points from the questions alone. So that classify me as R skin. I agree, to a degree that I never have reaction from anything. Though the redness that comes on mu face is from my “acne”. Also I read somewhere in the Book that R skin are less likely to get Acne, and I do so that makes me thing what kind of skin I really am I never have problems with sun, nothing. Just the acne and large pores.

Third Category I am definitely N, I scored 22. And like I said before. I never have any marks on my face beside post acne marks. Which fade away with looong time. No freckles in my whole family and relatives, no burning either. Only my mom tends to burn sometimes.

Fourth Category W/T I am surprised I scored 43, which again is very close to the barrier of tight skin. I never worry about wrinkles. I am only 21, although I would love knowing is about time to start preventing for future damage. I think this category the questions are not so personal for myself. For example my parents and grandparents work a lot. Especially the grandparents there are old school European hard working. Anyway I think stress and work and not enough sleep contributes to their skin. But this is not affecting me. I live at different times.
Please give me some advice.

I like everybody else has spend so much money for all kinds of products. I am happy I discovered your book, but have hard time finding my Skin type  what if I don’t fit into any of your 16 types? ;(

So in summary. I am 21,dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, medium/fair skin, with oily/dry skin if it gets dry I just put little rose hip oil, acne not severe, with a lot of black heads, tan easily, never have reaction to any kind of skin care products, never burn. Please help me, any advice will be appreciated.
