Reading your book was like receiving an epiphany! Never again will I trust the department store beauty counter salespeople. The products I was using were all completely wrong for me. I knew I had oily skin, but sensitive? Yep, I'm a OSNW.
Changing my products changed my skin almost immediately. The incidence of acne declined dramatically. I'm a very happy camper and I can't stop telling people about this awesome book.
I did have one problem, however, and I wish the book had addressed this. I had no idea soy was being used in face products. I have a huge allergy to soy. And I had no idea the Aveeno calming face wash I chose had it as an ingredient. It didn't claim it on the front label and when I saw "hypoallergenic" I just assumed I'd be okay. I was too for a couple weeks but then my eyes got puffy, itchy and red and two big dry patches appeared. So I started searching for a reason and underneath a peel off label and there it was in the list of ingredients...PEG 16 Soy Sterol and Glycine Soja Protein, which they were nice enough to translate as (soybean) on the list of ingredients. Switching to another product cleared up my problem.
It occurs to me that some companies could be using soy and hiding it under names like PEG 16 or Glycine Soja Protein and NOT translating what the substance is so people like me know what they're putting on their faces. So I wish the book would address these types of ingredients so those of us with food allergies know what to look for. God forbid someone gets the bright idea to use peanuts next! (They're in the same family of foods and I'm allergic to both.)
I'd really like some feedback on this. Thanks again for your book!
