the area of cosmetic dermatology? I ask because I was at "The Southern Womens Show" in Orlando today (why they call it that I'm not sure) and I saw lots of booths with "medispas" and "facial rejuventation" info. I went over to the booths and talked with the people presenting/exhibiting  to learn more about their services, thinking maybe I could find a good derm in my area.  To my surprise, none of them were derms or plastic surgeons except for one.  They were ER physicians that said they crossed over into the area.

I also bring this up because my OB/Gyn has started offering cosmetic services, like Botox, peels, (maybe even dermal fillers, but I can't remember about that one for sure).  So are a few other OB/Gyns in my city. Anyway, this bothers me. It makes me question their training in this area. Then I wonder, if my OB is spending all this time training and performing these services, is he still staying on top of all of the latest advances in things related to OB/Gyn/Women's Health issues.

On a side note, I kept thinking, Dr. Baumann should be here with her book and questionaire. It would have really got the word out and educated lots of people, in addition to being an awesome exhibit!

Dr. Baumann, what are your thoughts on this?
