Greetings, Newbies!

On behalf of the membership here at the forum, I'd like to welcome you and clue you in on some suggestions that will help us to help you.

Near the top of your screen, there's a row of buttons. The next to the last one says profile. Click on that button, and you can then edit your own profile. Most importantly: PLEASE post your test scores! You type these in the space where it says Signature. Also, let us know if you have a subtype like stinging, allergies, rosacea, etc.

Make copies of the lists of ingredients to avoid for your skin type and carry these with you when you shop for products.

Save all packaging and sales receipts in case you have to return a product that your skin cannot tolerate. It's helpful to save the packaging on products that you use anyway. Many companies do not list their ingredients on the product itself, but on the packaging. This is especially true of any of the Lauder companies (Clinique, Prescriptives, etc.).

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT buy a whole bunch of new products and start them all at once! You will make things worse by doing that. Your skin did not become damaged overnight, so expect it to take a good while to fix. Make sure you can tolerate the first product for a good week or two before adding the next one, and so on. Start with a recommended cleanser and work up from there. Continue using what you were using before while you are trying out cleansers.

Please read the related chapters in the book. Oilies, read ALL the oily chapters. Dries, ALL the dry chapters. There are nuggets of information in there for all skins. Best of all, read the entire book and refer to it often!

Remember, everyone is different, so what stings for me may not for you, etc. You have to experience some trial and error and be your own skincare sleuth. But once you find your correct products and are able to use them regularly, you will notice a remarkable improvement! Just don't be in a big hurry!

I have posted these "rules" here, simply because I was getting tired of repeating myself, ha ha. Once again, welcome to the forum! We look forward to getting to know you and wish you GOOD SKIN!
