I admit t, I found a fault in Dr. B's book. Maybe I missed it (and it would then be my fault), but I think there should be a more prominent caution to jump into a complete skincare regiment without trying one product at a time. Like i did. I went from nothing (barely even any makeup; just an occasional liquid foundation and powder blush) to all-out, full-title Regimen (with a capital R).
I took the skin care test, but frankly, I'm embarassed to say that I never paid ANY attention to my skin before, so a lot of my answers were guesswork. I came up as an "R" ... I had never had any problems putting stuff on my face, but then, I never really put stuff on my face.
I even switched makeup - to Bare Escentuals and then to Everyday Minerals. I had used the last of my liquid foundation, so just bought the BE that was recommended for my skin type.
So for the past four weeks, I have been playing with the ORPW regiment, and various things pop up. I've tried taking things out of the regimen, one by one, but then something else pops up. Like a new zit, which I have been treating with PanOxy 10% benzoyl peroxide.
So I need to start fresh.
HOw do I do that? Right now my face is slightly redder than usual and slightly sore, like a very mild sunburn. I never had any redness before, that I noticed (but again, I didn't pay much attention). Though I can't go completely without makeup, I'd like to get down to a daily/nightly cleanser, and light makeup. But I suspect that my Neutrogena cleanser (the one recommended for ORPWs and OSPWs) might be part of the problem. But I'm not certain. How do I know if that's true? I'd like to calm my face down before trying ANYTHING.
I'm so confused. I think I need professional help.
