I saw the Q&A on the blog said that you should not use retinoids with AHA .. and yet, one of my recommended products from Dr. Baumann's book is Advanced Solutions Nightly Renewal Cream - which contains Micro-DA Retinol and an AHA ...

So now I'm confused. Do I use it? Not use it?

I believe Retin-A is much stronger than retinol. I believe that the AHA is used in the product you mentioned to help the retinol penetrate better, to boost the effectiveness.

There is a product called Avene Diacneal which uses an over the counter vitamin A derivative (can't remember if it's retinol. or retinaldehyde, etc) in combo with some glyolic/AHA to boost the effectiveness.

So I think using AHA and retinoids together is a different story, since retinoids are much more potent.

If I'm wrong about this, please correct me.
