Hello all you helpful people out there! I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and I'm hoping someone might be able to give me some insight. I've been dealing with some crazy skin issues over the past four months - severe, continuous acne that has caused me a great deal of distress (prior to this, I had fairly nice skin that would break out only occasionally). I finally gave up about three weeks ago and saw my GP, and she gave me a prescription for a 1% clindomyocin (sp?!) lotion to use twice a day. It seemed to help somewhat, but I'm still breaking out (although at least they're not the terribly painful cysts they used to be). However, I have had very painful cracking of the skin at the corners of my mouth (I just keep slathering my mouth in vaseline, esp. before I put on the Rx lotion, in case that's what's irritating it). But much more troublesome has been what seems like a patch of dry, extremely itchy and painful skin around the outside corner of my left eye. My eyelid is puffy and kind of droopy, and now it seems like my right eye is following suit. It's not nearly as itchy or painful as the left, but it's certainly annoying. The only thing I've been able to do is put vaseline on the corner of my eyelid. There's no stye, my eyeball itself isn't irritated, it's just the dry, itchy, painful swollen eyelid. I haven't been sick with anything, although I have been under an intense amount of stress finishing up my master's thesis project, so I'm sure that doesn't help. I have no idea what's going on, and I feel like i should probably see a doctor, but I don't know what kind - my GP, a dermatologist, an opthomologist? who? Has anyone every experienced anything like this? or have any ideas? ANY help or advice is appreciated! Thanks and wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!
