Dear everyone
I really need your help/suggestion about my recent experience with retin a. Recently I started to use tretinoin BP .05%. I have been thinking about starting it for a really long time but because of all the baby related issue I could not. I have used it three times so far in two weeks time period. The first application made my skin little sensitive so I took a break and applied it again after 2/3 days. The next few days were fine my skin was looking absolutely gorgeous ( in this regard I have to mention that I have been using this facemask for last two months that made my skin look really great, I will write about it later), but after my third application two days ago , now my skin looks awful. I have a very very light dark patch on my nose ( I think it is mild epidermal melasma, but thats just a hunch) that patch area has become red. My skin is quite sensitive now and looks a little dark as if I had a mild tan. But I have always been extra careful about sun exposure. I didn't have any direct sun exposure in last 7 days. So here are the questions,
- can anyone tell me whats going on. i am not peeling at all.
- Is Retin-a used for melasma? can it make it worse if you have melasma.
- Is there anything I can do other than stop using it?
- Is it ok starting a retin-a without seeing your derm? Cause Bangladeshi derms have a very conservative treatment style I will bet anything that they will never prescribe a retin-a as an anti wrinkle. Infact skin care is at quite a primitive stage here. Please let me know what you think. I have been missing the forum a lot. I check it almost every day just not getting any time to post my threads. I have so much to share and talk about.
(holy Jesus I just figured out what I have been doing wrong, you cannot use a AHA/ BHA cleanser with retin-a, that’s a serious no no and I have been using both type of cleanser, that was so ignorant of me anyway I still need answer to those questions). Take care everyone and thanks in advance for your help.
