My skin is highly sensitive so I am scared to use this and get more red! He prescribed me the 0.05% Retin A cream, apparantley I am dry not oily :o Obviously I was off by that one!! (my score however was borderline O/D). Any users out there that can help me use this stuff??? I googled it and the website seems to be geared towards teenagers, all of the faces are teens!!

Start s-l-o-w-l-y! Use it every 3rd night, and make sure you either mix it with your moisturizer, or moisturize after. Also, wait about 30 minutes after washing your face to apply it. If your skin is wet, you will become irritated. Don't know why, but it happens!

I think Dr B has recs in her book about how to use...you might want to look it up and see! Good luck, I hope you like your results!

Didn't you get instructions with your prescription??? It amazes me that no one gets these as they are *so* important with this! Wait 20-30 minutes after washing your face as any moisture will cause irritation with RetinA. You put a pea sized amount on your left pointer finger. Then with your right hand finger, you take a little bit and put a dot in the middle of your forehead, on each cheek and on your chin. Pat it in all over your face. Hope this is helpful!

Also, if you go to retinA's website, there are the directions in pdf format.

Hi NickNack,

Yes I got instructions with it. I guess I phrased my question incorrectly I am wondering how I incorporate it into my nightly regimen. I just ordered the book so I will definately consult it when it arrives! (The first reading of the book was checked out from library). Do you mix it with your nightly cream? Or layer it? What creams are safe and what are not? For example Eucerin Q10 cream.

Lori,

I've used it for a year (I actually use Renova). I wash my face and put my eye cream on, then wait and use Renova. I wait another 30 minutes to an hour and put on my night cream. Right now I'm using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Facial Cream. That's all I do!

I use it every night and never mixed moisturizer with it. I've had no problems.
