My husband has been diagnosed with Blepharitis by his eye doctor. The rim around his eye as well as the eyeball can get red and irritated and the skin can get flaky or Peel. He hasn't had any luck with the treatment. I have read the little dialogue that is on this site and the same treatment was recommended to him. He was told to clean his eyelids thoroughly with baby shampoo and a Q-tip and to use hot compresses. He was given Tobradex (prescription steroid) which will eliminate the redness and puffiness but it can only be used short term. He was also recently placed on antibiotics for a month which didn't help. Sometimes I am convinced that all the cleaning he does causes the redness and puffiness. However, if he only washes with water and doesn't scrub, the entire eyeball and inner eyelid gets red and irritated. He is actually in pain today because of a flare up. Any advise?? Has anyone found anything else to help with this chronic condition?
