Is it possible to have acne on the scalp? I've got oily scalp but no matter what products I have used (lotions, shampoos, treatment sprays, etc.) I've never been able to solve that problem. Moreover, In the past 2 years I've been getting blemishes on my scalp (similar to the ones we get on the face if we have acne). I currently do not have acne on my face but I used to have mild acne when I was a teenager. I'm not sure what to do about the scalp...I would not think of applying the acne creams or retinoic acid on the scalp! but it seems to me that shampoo for oily scalp is not enough and these blemishes are sometimes painfully swollen...plus they contribute to hair loss. I've seen a derm and he said: "this is oily scalp, no such thing as acne on scalp exists"...but I wonder...
Ever heard of acne on scalp? Any treatments you've heard of?
