Hi Griffsgirl-
I used Obagi about 18 monts ago before my wedding (for the 3 months recommended). I went to a facialist attached to a plastic surgeon's office to help fine tune my skin. At that point I didn't have any acne to speak of, just wanted my skin to look its best for the wedding. I used the whole system (foaming face gel, toner, clear, blender and Retin A, Vit C, and another exfoliating product in the line). When I started using it, I broke out and got red and peeled. Basically I looked aweful for about 3 weeks. I was promised this was normal but it was not so much fun.
Now I admit, it may have just been timing and my skin was going to change any way, but since using the line, I have fought acne. I went back to what I was using, and that didn't even help (I had had acne before and was using ProActiv for about 3 years after a round of accutane with much luck).
Now, my skin is improving but I have given up on PA and I am using the Obagi foaming face wash and toner and Retin A. But it has been a battle getting my skin back under control. I am still looking for that miracle cure so that I don't have cystic acne at 38!
I'm glad your friend is having better luck. If you try it, I'll be curious to know if it works for you.
