I am 29 and an OSPT but recently went on the Pill to regulate my cycle. My skin is changing and I don't know what to use now. It is obvious to me that the Pill is now controlling my oil, but now I'm wondering if the Oil of Olay cleansing cloths (for oily skin) I was using (recommended) are now irritating my skin. They have SA in them and I am finding my skin has developed a million subsquemous bumps (some whiteheads, some are not) and my skin is itchy now. I thought it might be a reaction to a slight sunburn I got--ut that was a week ago...but now my skin really itches in spots and is getting more and more acne despite the fact that it is producing LESS oil! It is obvious to me that the fact that I have P and S skin will not be changed by the pill....I am wondering what I should do at this point? Take the quiz over or use something now for dry skin??? Or could this be a reaction to SA?

call your GYN right away and report the skin condition..might be a side effect..also,medications such as BC pills make you sensitive to sunlight..

I found that when I went on the pill, my acne worsened for a month or so, then got better as my body adjusted. Of course everyone is different though.

When I was in my 30's my gynecologist switched my birth control pills to another type (can't remember why) and the ones she switched me to caused tiny little bumps and redness all over my face and neck -- it was horrible, and basically happened overnight. She changed my Rx back to the original one and it went away. I agree with Ariesgrl -- I'd call the doctor right away, as she/he may need to change your Rx.

Well, I've been on this Pill before--two years ago...then I went off it and my period hasn't been able to regulate since...the cramps and long cycles have been getting worse every month, I couldn't take the pain anymore so the dr. put me on the same Pill I was on before. I feel the reaction I am getting on my face is hormonal (around mouth and forehead). I have a feeling that my body is just adjusting and it's going to take another month or two to regulate. But I will call my dr. to report it, I guess.
