Is anyone using an eye cream for undereye circles that they particularly love?  I'm a DSPW and Dr. B recommends that we don't use anything under the eye area if we can help it.  I've followed her advice, but I still have purple circles under my eyes.  Not to mention I could use a little more moisture under my eyes too.

Kristy,

It depends on what your dark circles are from as to what will work for you. Many of us have fat pockets (even if we're not fat!) under our eyes. It's a "shadow" that makes them dark rather than really skin discoloration. Stand in the mirror and push down on your undereye circles with a Q-tip. If the darkness goes away, it's a fat pocket. Surgery to remove them is the only thing that will take care of them if that's what they are.

I'm sorry Susie. I didn't mean to depress you. I think many people go on an endless search for creams for undereye circles when they really have fat pockets.

Hi, Susie,
I have had dark circles literally all of my life...imagine baby pictures with dark circles...yuk...
I have multiple causes:  sinus swelling, facial structure, allergies and bad sleep habits.
The post above is right on:  see if the shadow disappears when you press down on the higher skin area.  Are you chronically sniffly/stuffed up?  Are your orbital (eye) sockets sort of large relative to your eyes?
I have given up on cremes and just take care of my sinuses and use a good concealer/highlighter on the low spots.  Also, it never hurts to be careful about rubbing or pulling on that thin skin below the eye.  I hope this helps some,
Nelle
