I just read Dr. B's post about skin bruising on her skin guru blog on Yahoo.
Thanks for that info, Leslie! I have arthritis, so I take Celebrex and fish oil and green tea, all of which I quit a week before I had a Juvederm treatment.
I should have quit them way before then AND taken the supplements you suggested because I bruised all the way around my mouth and I looked like a blue clown face for about a week.
It was a story right out of I Love Lucy or something because I was trying to hide the whole thing from my husband. He brings me coffee in the mornings that I go to work and I would ask him not to turn on the light in the bedroom so I could rest some more, then I would run into the bathroom and try and put on concealer and stick foundation as quickly as I could before he came back in to say goodbye. I never could get the bruises covered well enough when I went to work ( I'm a nurse ), so my colleagues and I had fun with that. Only one patient figured out that I'd had work done, otherwise I tried to be non-chalant about the whole thing.
Pretty funny! Thank goodness I work long hours and my husband goes to bed early so I didn't have to see him too much.
Next time: SUPPLEMENTS
D 23 - S 52 - N 23 - W 51. Turning 58 in January. My skin is healthier than ever thanks to the skin type solution, avoiding rosacea triggers, healthy diet and lifestyle. Live in Colorado and outdoors a lot, so sun avoidance is difficult and use no less than SPF 30 daily and 60 to 100 outdoors...which is often.Keeping skin barrier intact is a must. Love all my virtual skin friends at STS!
