OK - been doing some research on Obagi Nu-derm and am a little confused. Seems the cornerstone of this regimen is to use Retin A w/skin lighteners and exfoliaters. Stay on this regimen for 3 months or so and endure several weeks of peeling, redness, etc. until new skin is exposed. Don't use any moisturization or the regimen won't work.
My question is whenever anyone is supposed to start using Retin A, most people's advice is to build up slowly so peeling, redness, irritation doesn't occur.I know Obagi is extremely well thought of and know people who have used it with much success. Just can't understand why Obagi's process is so different than most other recommendations. Won't this extreme peeling, redness, etc. compromise ones skin barrier.
If anyone has used Obagi or just has some thoughts on this, I'd like to know. TIAfor your thoughts/comments.
