I am ospw and still searching for beautiful skin at 50. I had several weeks of no cysts, but recently started using Purpose Sun Screen Redness Reducing and skin is reacting to it or something....maybe the heat. Has anyone else had problems with this sunscreen and has anyone found anything that is wonderful for oily skin in the humid south?

I'm a ORPW.  I just posted a list of s/s's the I've recently tried!  I'm still looking for the PERFECT one!

Over the past few days I've been using Dr. Denese's Day Cream SPF 30.  It has a very light tint.  So far I like it on No Makeup days...I have yet to try it with full foundation and powder.

I also like Clinique Super City 40 and Shiseido 33.  But I'm not sure how appropriate they would be for your sensitive skin.

Hi major oily, the first time I used the Purpose I became red by the middle of the day - people actually commented on it. I just used it again a few days ago - my skin has been improving over time so I thought I'd give it another shot. It didn't cause redness, but it might have caused some red bumps (this reaction was totally new to me) - the next day I tried a sample of Eucerin SS so I don't know which one caused the bumps. I wish I could suggest a sunscreen for the south - I am still looking for one that will not get oily in northern Vermont!

Marla, I'll have to check your list. My daughter's skin is very oily and resistant, and hates the way sunscreens feel.

Hi! I live in Houston Texas, so I know all about heat and humidity. I sugguest that you try DHC White Sunscreen SPF25 (www.dhccare.com). It has no chemical sunscreens and is a light easily absorbed lotion that doesn't look shiney.

Here's what they say about it:
Power of prevention. Nothing is as urgent as protecting your skin from the cumulative damage caused by the sun and its two types of UV rays: age-inducing UVA rays and UVB rays that tan and burn. DHC White Sunscreen is a broad-spectrum SPF 25 facial sunscreen that provides moderate sun protection from both UVA and UVB rays with powerful, chemical-free physical blockers—a safe, effective alternative to synthetic chemicals. Other megastar ingredients in White Sunscreen include alpha-arbutin, one of the strongest nonprescription brighteners available, and antioxidant vitamin C to up the radiance quotient. You’ll also get the benefit of olive leaf extract, aloe leaf extract, and vitamin E. Not only does this valuable sunscreen protect you from future damage, it also offers increased vibrancy as it lavishes your skin with anti-aging luminaries and moisturizers. Formulated with virgin olive oil. Gentle enough for even sensitive and acne-prone skin.

Here's the ingrediants:
Active Ingredients: titanium dioxide 5% zinc oxide 10% Inactive Ingredients: cyclopentasiloxane, water, talc, dimethicone, PEG-10 dimethicone, triethylhexanoin, glycerin, nylon-12, methicone, pentylene glycol, olea europaea (olive) leaf extract, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, PEG-9 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, magnolia obovata bark extract, aluminum hydroxide, alpha-arbutin, zirconium dioxide, phenoxyethanol, tocopherol, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, pentasodium pentetate, tricalcium phosphate, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, citric acid, silica, silver
OSPW (32,32*,34,42); age 40<br />*acne & allergy to chemical sunscreens

I am sensitive to all chemical sunscreens on my face (not my body). I think
I'll be looking for the right one forever, but right now for daytime use I
am using Clinique City Block 25%. I also wear a hat with a 6" brim and very
large sunglasses. I'm investigating some others and will let you know. It
seems the more ingredients, the more likely I am to react. E.g. Neutrogena
sensitive skin sunblock--it has physical blocks, but too many other ingredients.
