I am so confused about what I am supposed to do about exfoliating my face. I know that the retonoid is supposed to aid in cell turnover etc., but my differin cream is certainly not doing enough to keep my skin smooth or clear. I have read that you should not exfoliate to get rid of flakes from peeling caused my retonoids, but I don't have that problem. My skin is just getting ruddy and rough and leading to breakouts (and making my makeup application difficult and uneven!)

Any recommendations? I'm trying not to use some gritty apricot type scrub because I realize how damaging that can really be to your skin, but if I don't find a better solution soon I might have to temporarily resort to that. Thanks in advance.
