For ORPW skin types there are a list of products that "treat dark spots" and a list of products for lightening.

What's the difference between the two?

My main pigmentation concern is "age spots" -- which is better for this? Are there any particular ingredients that are especially good at lightening them?

Thanks...

I'm anxiously awaiting some explanation for this too. It is rather confusing. I am non-pigmented but will on occassion need to lighten an area. Hopefully Dr. B. will respond or someone who can help

Good question, and I wonder if it would be the same for us dry bones out here.

I found some info that hydroquinone may not be safe (it said to be band in UK for being cancerogenic). However Dr. Baumann suggested Magnesuim ascorbyl phosphate , which is an oil soluble and more stable version of vitamine C. Here is some info on that:

I find that Avalon Organics have a pretty good line (having my skin to rwact to everything there is, this one is good):

Other possible ingridients you can find in the book. I am not sure if they are different for different skin types, since some may be more irritating then others, making them undesirable for some.

Here is some read about the ingridients and such:
