My neck & decollete are now turning red (and staying that way) using my current regimen .......
I took the test the end of January and was classified a DRPW....in retrospect, I was thinking of my face (and not my neck) when I answered the questions.....even though my neck & decollete had more sun damage, it was more a pigmentation issue.....but more a brown/tan color - not red.
I occasionally felt a slight stinging when using the products on those areas, but nothing major. Later I noticed my neck & decollete turning a little red also, but it would always be calmed down by morning. Now it has been staying red for a lot longer....
Retook the Sensitivity/Resistant test today (considering only the neck & decollete area) .....and came up with a score of 37. (very sensitive) Looks like some of the products I am using on my face are not good for my neck area: cleanser with glycolic acid, Vit C serum, & retinol. I am also assuming it could be the "combination" of these products....since I started noticing the redness, I have mainly used my Cetaphil cleanser and have noticed an improvement.
I guess my plan now is to discontinue these products on my neck area & follow the regimen for DSPW until my skin barrier is cleared up.....and then reintroduce the retinol.....and much later the Vit C serum to see if my neck can tolerate them. Think I will stay with my Cetaphil cleanser forever
Does anyone have to treat their neck/decollete area with different products than they use on their face? I am assuming that the reason my face is in better shape, is that even though I always used a moisturizer with sunscreen on my face & neck, I had the added protection of makeup on my face....
Any help/suggestions will be appreciated!
