Maybe we can help each other to find a good sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.

I have searched places like Target, Walgreens, and CVS. The only sulfate free shampoo/conditioner I found was Burts Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo and Burts Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Conditioner. DO NOT use these, I had to return them as they were very harsh to my hair and dried it out like crazy. My hair was hard to comb through and my hair stylist commented that it felt like my hair had been saturated with clorine.

Next I searched at Ulta and found four or five options. I bought N-Fruizon Moisturizing Shampoo and N-Fuszon Moisturizing Conditioner. I didn't like these either and returned them. Although the N-Fruizon was better then the Burts Bees, it was still a bit drying and my hair was hard to comb through.

After that, I bought another Ulta option; MOP (Modern Organic Products) C-System Hydrating Shampoo and MOP C-System Hydrating Conditioner. (Read the label; only two of the MOP shampoos are sulfate free.) This shampoo and conditioner smells good, feels silky to use, my hair is looking better, and my face isn't breaking out. This one is a winner for me.

There may be other great sulfate free shampoos/conditioners out there. I know from experience that there are some bad ones. Maybe we can help each other out here by sharing recommendations or definate no-nos.

AnastasiaKay,

I sometimes (1 or 2 times a month) read the QVC Beauty Section of the Community Forum on the QVC website. I noticed the other day that some of the ladies on that board were discussing shampoos and someone recommended Freeman Pure Color Fresh Shampoo. I have never used these products myself so I can not offer a review. I checked for the products online (freemanbeauty.com) and they are advertised as being sulfate free. I imagine you could find them at any drugstore, Walmart, Target, etc.

Thanks for the reviews on the other products. I will not purchase any of them. I would like to find a sulfate free shampoo since I have highlights and would like them to last as long as possible.

Good luck in your search and please keep us posted.

I like the Devachan line. The Devacurl line is sulfate free. I'm not sure what type of hair you have, and am not sure if it is exclusive to curly hair though.

I put in a link if you want to read about it.

Hi,

I use Avalon Organics shampoos, they are sulfate free. I usually buy then from the health food store.

I only use sulfate free shampoo. My hair is very coarse and naturally dry and
sulfates strip the color. I use Pureology (I bought this at my hairdresser)
Jonathon Antin's line--I really liked this. I bought this on QVC, but I know
his products are sold elsewhere. I've used Avalon, but found it more drying
than the other two. I also use WEN, which is a conditioner and shampoo.
I originally bought it from his website, but got a better deal on QVC. I'd
never go back to sulfate shampoos again. There is a drugstore line called
Paves--I've never used it. But I tend to use the richest shampoos I can find--
my hair is very dry and although I am acne prone, have never reacted to
shampoo. I do not use much in the way of hair products.
