After reading Venus's topic about the confusion over the "Tip of the Week" (see below), I am wondering if I have gotten anything else wrong! Need help from the DRPWs or anyone else that knows!
(Are you using a product that contains glycolic acid and a product that contains retinol at the same time? Better rethink your routine -- alpha hydroxy acids (like glycolic acid) inactivate retinol, and the two ingredients should not be used together.)
First, I admit that I did not buy the book....I checked it out from a library....took the test and went straight to my section (DRPW). One of the cleansers recommended is Gly Derm (which has glycolic acid) I was also using a recommended retinol at night. After reading the Tip of the Week, I am using Cetaphil at night to cleanse my face before using the retinol. But, is there anything else that I am doing wrong? Below is my routine....wondering if the glycolic acid is making other ingredients inactive ( such as my Vit C serum)
AM
cleanse with Glyderm
eyecream
Vit C serum
moisturizer with sunscreen
PM
cleanse with Cetaphil
exfoliate (2 - 3 X per week)
eyecream
Vit C serum
moisturizer with retinol
night cream
Thanks for all your help!
