I need a sanity check. In my frustration with skin care, I've seen 3 different dermatologists over the past 12 months.
1st - said it was not rosacea, but adult acne; treatment was ineffective and actually made the breakouts worse and produced super-sensitivity (even water stung!)
2nd - immediately said, yes, definitely rosacea; treatment plan produced significant improvement; did laser treatment to reduce redness; but a couple of months ago, started having the breakouts again...
3rd - was yesterday; was told it was certainly not rosacea (asked me if I'd ever seen pictures of rosacea); she indicated topical treatment would be ineffective and prescribed spironolactone; never mentioned sunscreen, by the way; did recommenc L'Oreal Revatalist (although I'm not sure which specific product in that line)
FYI, the reason I hadn't been back to #2 was that his office staff is horrible. They cancelled my appointment and notified me by letter because I hadn't provided updated insurance information. I had the info and it would have taken less time for them to phone me than to produce and mail a letter.
I appreciate your input!
