I was really surprised on how matte this went on. With the palmitate, beeswax and dimethicone in the formula, I thought it would be a bit greasy. It is a lotion, but feels light, and has a matte finish. Think Shisiedo SS, but without the oil-absorbing/waterproof qualities. I actually could see some small dots of the Zinc Oxide on my face. It did not sting, burn or cause any irritation problems as so many do with just a few minutes of contact with my face. I am still amazed as the finish Obagi was able to make with this product with the ingredients they used. I will report more in a few days.
