As a 55 birthday treat I tried Juvederm for the lines above my mouth and on the sides of my chin. There was special pricing on it in January, so the compulsion to try it was heightened. Well, that and my Scottsdale sister had some injected and loves it.
I had bruises all around my mouth and most people thought I'd gotten blueberry stains from eating them or some people thought I'd been sucking on my pen.
I looked pretty funny and have funny stories to go with this, but here are some things I learned:
Take the arnica they suggest; my sister said it kept her from bruising.
Use lots of ice following treatment
Bobbi Brown Corrector followed by skin tone correct Stick Foundation applied with a BB Touch Up Brush helps to cover the bruises. Warm lipstick shades ( for me anyways) like BB Nude and Pink Beige Lipgloss over it helps to cover lip bruises.
Eucerin Redness Relief Moisturizer helped relieve the bruising as did Topix Replenex CF.
10 days later the bruises are pretty much gone, but my upper lip is still swollen and sensitive. The injections go in through and above your lips, so this is why that happens. The numbing cream worked to stop injection pain.
Seriously ponder how long you want to keep this up and put away lots of money if you do.
Follow instructions about avoiding NSAID's, fish oil, green tea and other blood thinning products. I did, but I have a little arthritis so my levels must have been pretty high.
Enjoy the results!
