About 6 weeks ago there was a rather interesting thread which revolved (mostly) around the oil cleansing method and some of your experiences with it.

I'm curious as to who's still using it, and how it's going for you?

I've experienced a little setback with what was fast becoming my HG cleanser, the Olay Age Defying wash. I started a new tube of it the other day, and from the very first wash my skin was very irritated with slight burning and sensitivity for many hours afterwards.

At first I thought that it might have just been that I was a little sensitive that day, so didn't worry too much about it. I backed off from all my other treatments which could cause irritation or make it worse (C+AHA, scrubs, Diacneal) and just treated my skin super gently.

For the next couple of days I had the same experience every time I washed with the Olay. I then looked at the ingredients and thought they looked like they'd changed. So I pulled the old tube out of the garbage and compared the ingredients. Sure enough, they had changed the order of some of them. Nothing new had been added, but they had increased the percentage of some of the more irritating ingredients.

It is so annoying when companies "tweak" their products like that. I've had this happen so many times over the years and every time it's resulted in negative effects for me.

So, now I'm on the hunt for another cleanser

Yesterday I thought about the OCM, and searched for information on it both here, at Makeup Alley, on acne.org and in general through Google. From what I read I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a go, so last night tried it. I didn't have any castor oil, so just used the cold pressed, organic EVOO that I keep for salad dressings.

I massaged a small handful of the EVOO into my dry face for about 3 minutes. While doing this I could feel grit, which some people seem to think is plugs and other debris coming out of your pores. Anyway, after doing this I used a fairly warm, wet face cloth which I held over my face for a few seconds then gently wiped with. I did this a few times, then just jumped under the shower and washed everywhere else.

My face was a tiny bit blotchy for about 30 mins after this, but felt quite clean and very soft.

I've done it again this morning and tonight and my face feels great! I'm not sure long-term how good this would be for me, but I'm now at a stage where I'm prepared to try something like this. I've also looked at the DHC brand today (they're now selling in the UK) and am quite interested in their products.

So, just wondering how it's going for those of you using it? Any tips you might have for me? And for those who've used DHC products, how have you found them?

Thanks
