Looking for a mascara that won't cause raccoon eyes. 4 years, 7 months ago #2366

Hello Ladies -
I'm in need of your advice. I have tried (what seems to be) a million different mascaras in the hopes of finding the one that won't give me raccoon eyes. So far, no luck. I've tried several different Maybelline mascaras, Origins, Aveda and Lancome's Définicils. All of them give me raccoon eyes.

I've also tried the "tubing" mascara (Kiss Me and Mirenesse), while these do stay on, they don't come off It takes so much scrubbing of the delicate eye area that my lids are red when I'm done, so these are out.

One day I decide to experiment and didn’t wear any mascara but did wear eyeliner and found out my eyeliner is also flecking down adding to the Alice Cooper affect…augh!

Additionally, I'm not sure if I should be buying waterproof mascara or not. I usually don't buy waterproof b/c according to Paula Begoun, "most waterproof mascaras can break down and smear due to oil from your skin or emollients in your moisturizer or foundation." Which I think is my problem? While my skin is dry, my lids are oily and using an eye cream, while necessary, just adds to the problem. What are your thoughts on this?

I think my next try is Diorshow (I’ve read good things about this one) along with Benefits SheLaq (which I would use to seal my eyeliner – I tried this at the store and on the back of my hand with some eyeliner, it worked pretty well). However, I’m open to any suggestions.

Thanks!
Jen
