Hi - I'm slowing figuring out what my skin reacts to through trial and error, and I've come to realize that I can't tolerate any sunscreen in moisturizer, unless it's titanium dioxide only and no zinc oxide, which really limits things. But here's the weird thing - if the sunscreen is in makeup, even if it's a chemical sunscreen, I don't have a problem with it.
I thought maybe it was because I'd wear something underneath the makeup and it would act as a buffer. So I tested this out today - I used moisturizer that agrees with my skin with no sunscreen, then added a moisturizer with chemical sunscreen (Eucerin Q10 for Sensitive Skin, which is going right back to Walgreens!) - terrible stinging!
So any ideas why I'd react to moisturizer with chemical sunscreen but not makeup with chemical sunscreen? I just don't get it!
I am really loving Physician's Formula Le Velvet Film makeup, which has an spf of 15, but I don't want to wear that much foundation on a daily basis. I'd like to just use moisturizer, concealer, a little powder in the t-zone and lip gloss - not a full-face of makeup everyday.
Any ideas? ???
Thanks-
Beth
