I have read the chapters in Dr. Baumann's book that apply to me and have started on the program. I thought I'd start out with the recommended products in the book. But one thing that frustrated me was the dirth of good shade selections for the foundations recommended for my skin type. This is especially frustrating as I have a skin color that is hard to match -- many products turn orange on my skin.

So I have a dream product that I humbly suggest someone package and market. (Any entrepeneurs out there?)

The dream product would be a line of foundations that follows Dr. Baumann's typing system and associated recommended ingredients for each type. This would mean there would be 16 different untinted foundations that would be packaged for each skin type. Then there would be a line of tints for skin-color matching -- something like cool, neutral, warm with shades in each category from light to dark. Then the customer would purchase the untinted foundation according to skin type and the tint to be mixed with the foundation to make it the proper skin color.

Thoughts?

Oh ... that sounds so nice. I have skin that is hard to match also and none of the foundation mentioned in my section of the book work for my coloring. I am currently trying out some of the mineral makeups with SPF to see if I can find one that works. That would help to simplify my routine. Prior to this I was using L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable makeup. It was easy on my sensitive skin and comes in lots of colors grouped in neutral, warm and cool. It probably would not work for someone with super oily skin, but would look fairly natural on others. I wish us both good luck!

Prescriptives prides itself on being a brand (in the Estee Lauder umbrella of companies) that can match any skin color/type. Have you ever tried their foundations? There are many varieties and the color typing is pretty much unlike any other I've seen at any dept. store counter.
Just a thought out there for you

Actually I've used Prescriptives for years. Colors are very nice, but never could get a perfect fit for my skin. It's oily enough (30) that in an hour or so my skin would look shiny with Virtual Skin, but the oil free water based kind I used to use made me look too wrinkly. I've been living with the shiny look for years...

Kathy,

I don't know when you last used Prescriptives oil-free, but they have a newer one called Virtual Matte. When I used to have to use this, I didn't have any breakthrough oil at all and didn't find it made me look wrinkly. It might be worth a try.
