I went to a dermatologist about my dark spot (left from acne) He prescribed 3% hydroquinone after giving me a stern warning about how it could easily produce white spots on my skin, since I am a fairly dark skinned indian. Now I understand that if I keep using HQ without any precautions I can develop dark spots. But I thought that the change in pigmentation was very gradual, and I could just stop when I saw my dark spots returning to their regular color or possibly getting too light. However the Dr. made it sound like even one application could drastically affect my skin and produce light spots which are even worse. He didn't say that, but that was the implication.

I just wanted to ask other people with dark skin how their experience was with using HQ and if it gave you any unexpected or undesirable results.
