I started Renova about six weeks ago and have been using it nightly for about two weeks. I know I can't expect perfect skin immediately, but when should I start noticing a difference? I have slightly dry skin with lots of "fine lines" and some enlarged pores on the side of my nose and also some small blackheads on the tip of my nose. Does this mean my nose is oily??? Seems strange! Anyway, just feeling a little impatient!
Thanks,
Zoey

Retinoids are for the long-term, and not great for immediate results. Some people swear they do get results early, but I like the person who always says on the Green Cream board something to the effect that it isn't a race, but a marathon. It is a long-term commitment and restructuring of the deeper layers of the skin. I have been using retinoids since November and I am very pleased, but it is no overnight miracle. I hope I am not discouraging you; I don't mean to. I just wanted you to know that it is a slow process at times. The good thing is, you should see your skin acclimating to it more and more -- that is progress!

Thanks guys,  I know it's going to take some time.  I know the Renova will work wonders (eventually), but it's hard waiting.  I used to be known for my great skin, but since I entered my mid thirties all hell has broken loose!!  I think I have the type of skin that, if not taken care of right away, could age really badly.  Thank goodness for Dr. Baumann's book and all her wonderful knowledge!

Zoey,

Did you get a little brochure with your prescription? It has a place to circle all your spots, fine lines, etc. on a piece of paper and then check at certain intervals to see if they've improved and/or gone away.

It's a six month process, and if you quit using it you revert back to the way you were. You do see improvements at certain intervals though. I would think after six weeks you could tell a difference, although not dramatic.
