Has anyone tried using a self tanner while using a retinol like Differin?

Are they compatible? I was thinking using Differin at night and then self tanner once or twice, applying in the morning.

I am heading south for March break (yes, SPF 50 is packed) but would still like to come back with a fake-a-bake glow. What about those sprays you can get at a salon?

My inlaws are real sun worshippers and I am always looking like Casper in the family photos. (my kids are fair too and I plan on keeping it that way).
