... or should I say, confused skin type.  ???

(1) After so many years of battling dry flaking skin, I have finally accepted, thanks to the Skin Type Solution, that I now have oily skin. In fact, it isn't just oily, it's an oil slick on my t-zone, with the advantage of my cheeks now being 'normal' rather than dry and flaking. Mind you, the huge pores are by no means attractive (I must stop looking so close in the mirror). This change has happened over the last few years. Who knew I would be battling teenage-like oily skin at 40? No acne, thank goodness. That would be a bummer!  :-

(2) After so many years of being scared of reactions to many products, my sensitive skin can now tolerate just about anything I throw at it. That is, apart from products designed for oily skin! They burn and turn my skin red. Or I end up with that dry flaking skin of years ago, only accompanied by the oil slick. But I do have the telltale signs of broken capillaries and pink skin on nose and cheeks. Photodynamic therapy is looking good.   8)

(3) After so many years of not understanding the fuss over pigmentation, I am now considering doing something about the huge freckles that line my shoulders and spoil the look of slinky straps and off the shoulder after five wear. Let's not mention the rest of the sun damage done to the exposed skin of arms and chest. Other than that, I am whiter than white. I could act as a beacon for ships in the night.

(4) Wrinkled or Tight ... Hmmm... Do tiny little lines count as wrinkles? My mother had beautiful unlined skin and would always protect it from the sun. My father - well, he is a walking advertisement for skin cancer. Environment does me no good in Dr Baumann's skin typing - I live in the subtropics, in the skin cancer capital of the world. Too many years of constant sunshine and sunburns as a child (and occasionally as an adult). I feared that one day I would wake up and my skin would have collapsed into sagging wrinkles. But now I find out about the inverse relationship between wrinkles and basal cell carcinoma (bcc). And, yes, I have bcc. I think I would prefer the wrinkles.

Dry is now Oily
Senstive is now Resistant (though I'm not taking too many chances with upsetting that so treating it as Sensitive)
Pigmented / Non-pigmented - the freckles are lessening now I'm heeding the sun cancer warnings
Wrinkled / Tight - Do tiny little lines count as wrinkles? At 40?

Brissie - possibly OSNT, but not totally sure...
