Does anyone else find that they have "sensitive flares?" I think the one
that just started had to do with a night cream I tried--fortunately
I took it off very quickly--before I turned bright red. I bought it because I
thought it was very similar to the L'Occitane Honey Miehl face cream I've
been using and had used it in the past. Decided to try it because I do get some occasional breakouts from L'Occitane. AND I'M
62!! It took me forever for me to find cleansers and lotions that didn't turn
me bright red--it seemed that everything Dr. Baumann recommended
did that--and everything that said it was good for redness made me redder.
Finally in desperation I started using Pond's Cold Cream and my local CVS
started carrying LaRochePosay and I got the water.
I had been doing so well I was using Retina micro 1% again.
So, back to the drawing board and I see I have a lot of reading to do on forum. It's tricky because even at my age I dont' have really dry skin. Was
oily till about 52. Have to do numbers again, but I'm borderline D/O.
I do know that chemical sunscreens are the worst offender for me and that
I don't react to most fragrance. But I can't figure out what ingredient in
cleansers and lotions is the major irritant. I remember raves on this board
re Ceravue cleansers and lotions and they made me lobster red after one
use.
But back to original question--does anyone seem to flare for no reason at all?
And it isn't because it's winter--I adjust everything--run humidifier 24/7. Also
it really hasn't been winter here yet. Last flare was in spring.
