I'm ecstatic because I've found Afirm 1X (for now) and it's just feeling and already making my skin look better. However, I have a question. It says to "apply to clean face". I always used a serum at night. Can I no longer user this? Or can I still apply in before the Afirm? I always learned to put on serums and then gels/creams. I do know I can follow Afirm by a moisturizer, but I can't imagine putting a serum over it.

A few things I learned about retinol.

-should be applied at night only (you lose the benefits of it in daylight)
-should not be used in conjunction with AHA/BHAs (also another factor that can cancel out the benefits of retinol)
-can be applied AFTER a serum

Thanks so much for posting. Those are all the thinigs that I have learned about Retinol as well. So, I guess I'm on the right track

I think you could also use the retinol before the serum without it making too much of a difference, but I'm like you...it seems that a serum should be applied first, not last.

Do keep us posted about the Afirm. I was going to try that until I found out I am pregnant. So, no retinol for me for a while. My BHA will be my best friend until after I'm done nursing.
