For my 35th birthday, I sprung for Botox injections and just got back from the doctor's office! What Paula and Dr. Baumann had to say about Botox made me very comfortable getting it done. It will take 3-7 days to get the full effect and I'm looking forward to seeing the results! My doctor took a very conservative approach and gave me 5 injections--one between the brows and the other 4 along my browbone. It didn't hurt--felt like pin pricks. Cost me $340--20 units at $17 a unit. Wish I'd had it done in Cambridge, MA before I moved--it was $12/unit where I went!

I asked about the Restalyne injections in the eye hollows that I'd read about in the Oprah article* and he wasn't very keen on that procedure. It's too new, there are lots of blood vessels in that area, etc. I think I'll wait until it becomes a little more mainstream or there are alternatives.

Additionally, he gave me lots of samples of Retin-A Micro .04. I've tried retinoids in the past and haven't been happy with them, though I was a bit overzealous in applying them in the past. I've been using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle cream recently with no problems (though I started out very slowly as Dr. B. recommends in her book). I'm just as excited about trying retinoids again as I am about the Botox!
