Hi all,

I have quite sensitive skin with stinging as one of the main symptoms, but also can have itching, pain, and redness. Here's the question:

I don't have problems with Relastin Skin Revitalizer but moderate to severe stinging and burning with Relastin Eye Silk. In trying to figure out what's causiing this, I'm quite sure it is not the main active ingredient, Cyclopentasiloxane, because it is present in both products and I can use the Skin Revitalizer around my eyes with no problem.

To try and figure this out, I compared ingredients in the two products and found the following are only in the Eye Silk:

Dimethicone Crosspolymer,
Dimethicone,
Phenoxyethanol,
Zinc Complex,
Mica,

I have used other products containing these ingredients without problems -- the Dimethicone in products you smooth on before foundation/makeup to help it last longer, and the zinc/mica in mineral foundations. I'm not so sure about the Phenoxyethanol -- looked it up and it seems to be common to many products.

My question is whether any of you have had problems with Phenoxyethanol and especially in the eye area? Do you think this may be what is causing the problem and I should be on the look out for it as one cause of my overall sensitivity?

Or do you think perhaps it is using such a concentrated amount of Dimethicone and zinc/mica in the eye area?

I'm on automatic order with both products and will need to cancel the Eye Silk. I've tried it off and on the last two months and simply can not tolerate it. But thought I should try and learn from this "mistake" so I don't repeat it.

Thanks in advance for any insight on this,
Carol
