I read the book and went to buy the Olay Total Effects 7x... moisturizer and noticed it contains two of the ingredients listed to AVOID: Isocetyl stearate and also Isoproyl isostearate---so I refrained from buying it--good think I brought that list w/ me!

Thanks, Les -- now I'm going to copy my list of ingredients to avoid and carry it with me at all times since I now know this is a possibility...

If you thoroughly have read the book, you'll notice SEVERAL product recommendations that have ingredients she says to avoid. For example, she says sensitive types should avoid cinnamon extract, then in the OSNT chapter recommends Kiehl's blue herbal spot treatment for pimples, which has cinnamon extract in it. I'm a little perplexed by that as well. I think you would be hard pressed to find products that do not have anything in it she says to avoid, esp. us sensitive types.

From the way I interpreted it, not all "S" folks will have sensitivities to all "bad" products. Hence, some will be able to use them, some won't. I'm an S at 45 on the scale. Avobenzone is on the bad list, but I can still use it. BP is on the bad list, and I can't. It just depends. I have used Total Effects before with no sensitivity (itching, redness, burning) issues, but I found the Regenerist line to clog my pores. It is all so individual.

I'm glad that you wrote that because several of the ingredients she said to avoid, I'm using and I know they don't bother me. I'm also perplexed by this. And even more perplexed at an ingredient that cause severe sensitivity in me being on the recommended lists for fellow OSPN skin types.
