First let me mention that I also have rosacea, but I think this is more than a flare. Every single thing I put on my skin, including my regular go-to products, such as Cerave, burn and sting my skin. The only thing that seems to calm things down is a chamomile tea toner (homemade), but my skin is so dry, I really do need a moisturizer. All of this started with a little experimentation on my part with a new product, though honestly, I should know better by now.

I went out and bought La-Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser and moisturizer, as recommended in the book, and sure enough, they didn't sting--but only for a few hours. Then it slowly started to return. Out of desperation, I applied some flax seed oil topically right before bed. Yes, it burned, but I went to sleep and woke up much improved.

So here are my two questions:

1. while the flax seed oil works while I'm at home, what am I supposed to do when I go to work, etc? Use a bit of my regular-but-now-stinging moisturizer anyway?

2. how exactly do I heal my skin barrier, and how long does it take? (I am halfway through the book at the moment, so forgive me if it's mentioned in there)
