I've been using this Clarins serum now for approx 2 weeks and it does seem to be reducing redness on my nose and cheeks - certainly better than other redness reducing serums I've tried (L'occitane Shea and Cotton serum, Elemis Redness Releif Serum, Prescriptives Redness Relief Gel). However, numerous posts on MUA suggest that it isn't a serum to use every night, just when a sensitivity flare occurs. Dr Baumann appears to be suggesting it's use daily but the SA at the Clarins counter looked in horrer when I said I'd been using it every night - she's probably a DRNT type who has no clue what a flare actually means LOL! I do notice that the serum contains retinyl palmitate but this is way down on the list of ingredients - do you think this is why I shouldn't maybe be using it every night? Has anyone else used it and had any problems with it? Also, yesterday, I ordered Afirm 1x (0.15% retinol) as I feel ready now to start addressing fine lines on forehead and under eyes (actually not so fine anymore!). Would it be ok to use the Clarins serum and the Afirm or would that be Vitamin A derivative over-kill? I would just use the Afirm once weekly at first and steer well clear from my nose and cheek area in the beginning (although I remember Help Me by philosophy years ago helping massively with open pores on my nasal fold area) - I think Help Me is discontinued now - is this true? Sorry, lots of questions! By the way I'm actually DSNW but the Clarins serum was recommended in the DSNT section of the UK version of the book so that's why I'm posting my query here. I have a high sensitivity score of 55 but borderline T vs W 40.5 Thanks xx
