Hi,
Just thought I would update the forum on the success I have had in resolving my issues, in case anyone else experiences the same thing. First, I ended up going to the dermatologist, as my face became covered in little white bumps, hives, and redness. Diagnosis: Dermatitis !
The Dr. said that the cause was likely Renova, plus exfoliating, plus very dry air in the house due to winter heating. I had the flu for two weeks, and did not use any products, and then resumed my routine without easing my way back in...Mistake!!! So, ...always go slowly with introducing, or reintroducing, products.
I had picked up CeraVe cleanser and face lotion. The Dr. had me stick with the CeraVe, and gave me a mild cortisone cream to use for two weeks, 2-3 times per day- Locoid Lotion 0.1%.
My skin is improving way past its pre-dermatitisl state! Bumps I assumed needed to be "exfoliated" are gone with gentle care.
My new routine is:
AM:
CeraVe cleanser
(Locoid lotion- this is temporary)
Good skin All Calm sunscreen SPF 25 (FANTASTIC!)
Prescriptives Flawless Skin concealer SPF 25
Cover Girl Tru-Blend pressed powder (Wonderful product!)
PM:
Boots No. 7 Make up remover wipes (eyes and concealer spots only)
CeraVe cleanser
(Locoid lotion)
CeraVe Lotion
I am sure that the heat and humidity of summer will bring a need to reevaluate, but I have learned my lesson about overdoing it!! Sorry for the long post!
