I'm finally willing to accept the fact that my break out prone skin is indeed dry (not oily). So I'm going to stop abusing it with oil free foundations...I think I can. I think I can. :- I researched this forum for foundation ideas and decided to start with Bobbi Brown's Moisturizing foundation. I have used her oil free foundations in the past, so I was familiar with the color that works best for me (VERY fair). Well...it felt beautiful, coverage was great, skin seemed happy and then on day 4...breakouts. It's due, I'm sure, to the jojoba oil and the lavender( had my eyes watering for the past four days). Jojoba oil is a clogger for me..never thought to check the ingredient list before buying. Samples for her new Skin foundation were included, but it sinks into my pores, shows flakes and seems almost powderlike on my skin. Not enough coverage either. If your barrier is in great shape, you don't have large pores and coverage isn't an issue, it does give the skin a beautiful slight glow. I may try again if I get my "problems" under control.
I will next (tomorrow) be trying Laura Mercier's moisturizing foundation and since they offered free two day delivery yesterday, I also ordered the Silk Creme Foundation (recommended by both OSPT/W's and DSPT/W's here). The Silk Creme is oil free, I believe, but users here claim it's not drying. I will be sure to test each one separately/weeks apart.
I may also try the Jane Iredale because it is paraben free, and I'm thinking I may have a problem with parabens. I know it's technically also oil free, but again, those who love it claim it isn't drying. I'll probably wait until closer to summer when the humidity here is very high...unless the others don't work out.
I'll post my results. Other suggestions would be appreciated, and I'd love to hear from others who are on the same quest ...or better yet, have found their HG!
Thanks is advance,
PJ
