I've been reading the book & find it fascinating.  I am clearly DSW -- no question.  But I come out on the borderline between P & N.  Can anyone help?

I get sunpots, never tan but burn only, no brown marks with cuts & bruisess, but have some freckles.  Brown spots are apeearing with age.

I want to get the correct type as the skin care differs.

Dr. B's advice has always been that if you're on the border go with the one that's worse. For example, use the pigmented regimen instead of the non-pigmented. It's better to prevent in the beginning than have to correct later. HTH.

Yes, definitely go with P, especially since you're getting the sunspots too. When borderline, treat yourself as the worse of the two categories so you have the bases covered. I was actually borderline W/T and treat myself as a W, since I live in FL and am outside a lot. I'm also borderline S/R and D/O too, so same thing, just to cover all the bases.

My skin sounds a lot like yours - I have sun spots, a bit of melasma, freckles - so I'm definitely a P, but I don't get dark spots with cuts and I don't tan. I'm going with the P because I do have sun spots and melasma, but as far as products go, I think being on the edge of two categories (or 4 in my case! I'm a DSPT, but pretty close on P/N and within two points on W/T) I just go with what my skin is doing at the time. My skin will change with the season, so in winter I'll probably have to treat it differently. I wish my skin would just be one definite way - that would be so much more simple, but oh well.
