hi, i'm cheryl and new to this method but loving the concept. my skin has been dry since i can remember. i used to spend my babysitting money at the mary kay distributor's in the small ranching community where i grew up in northern california. on the bright side, i never had acne. my skin was always clear and the 'peaches and cream' variety which i vainly enjoyed.

at the age of 42 after a number of severe health issues, i found myself with a raging case of rosacea. suddenly products that had always worked for me caused flaming welts on my face. wah! although my dermatologist correctly identified the problem, solutions were somewhat more elusive.

dr b's book has given me hope for the first time in long time. as my skin is extremely sensitive, i've decided to chronicle my journey here and hopefully it can help others and others can add their own experience.

i use a filter on my shower to rid the water of hard and harsh minerals and have done so for a few years. i noticed an immediate difference on my skin. i don't know why i just THIS WEEK realized that using that water to wash my face would be a good idea. what a newsflash! it's great.

products i've tried so far

L'Occitane (soap with shea butter and cold cream) -- has been wonderful at cleaning without drying and removes makeup fairly well

Origins (well off - eye make up remover) -- gets rid of the rest quite well

La Roche Posay (dermo-cleanser) -- OUCH!!! burns, stings, can't get it off fast enough
