Non-Chemical Sunscreen Recommendations? 4 years, 9 months ago #2173

Hello,

This is my first post, but I've been reading the others and this site looks like it will be a wonderful resource!

Has anyone had any luck finding a high SPF non-chemical sunscreen that doesn't wear like clown makeup? I've tried the Neutrogena SS and the Blue Lizard Face, but both are pretty thick, though the BL a little less so. Blue Lizard Sensitive isn't pasty, but actually seems really oily - but it too sweats off.

I'm outside quite a bit in the summer (Georgia), and find that the every sunblock I've tried sweats off rather quickly. I learned the hard way that I can't use most chemical sunscreens after an unfortunate incident with some Coppertone Water Babies on my face. Oddly enough though, I can use products like Oil of Olay w/Octinoxate (though it's only SPF15). I have tried the Eucerin Redness Relief products and they were unbearable - stinging and burning.

The folks at BL said that even though it's sweating off, I still have some protection because you really have to scrub to remove titanium dioxide. But who wants to scrub with sensitive skin?!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much for taking the time to read my ramblings
DSNW-ish  (19.5/48.5/21/42), 30YO, stinging, allergic, eczema, and mild rosacea. Fair skinned.  Grateful to all of you who share your stories!
